Our Lady of Snows
GUIDO RENI
c. 1662
The figure on your left is Saint Lucy and the one on your right is
Saint Mary Magdalen. The Angel is distributing the snow by letting it
fall from his hands as it collects on the ground below. The hand of the
Christ Child is raised in the salute position of Christ the King. The
image is a little larger than optimum for fast download but when reduce
the snow is less visible than the artist portrays. If anyone would like
to print the image smaller, just contact me and I will reduce it to 11
by 14, landscape, that is I will rotate the image cross-wise on its
axis for the purpose of printing only, not viewing and post it for you.
The same with the first painting. The Garrido image is copyrighted and
is for viewing only, thus I rendered it too large for printing.
