RELIQUARY

St. Therese's Reliquary at the Lisieux Carmel:

Her body was found not to be incorrupt, although the fern placed in her coffin was still fresh when the coffin was opened for inspection.  She was reburied in the same Lisieux cemetery at another spot which is marked by her statue. The figure representing the Saint above is either a carved work or a wax representation, which is quite common as in the case of St. John Neumann's Reliquary in Philadelphia. In the above photograph you can view the Virgin of the Smile above the Reliquary.

Our copy of the photograph is very small. This is the only reduceable size we could render the image for display without losing detail. We apologize for the long download time.
