MADONNA 89: IMMACULATA

The Immaculate
GIANBATTISTA PIAZZETTA
c. 1750

The artist was an Italian painter, illustrator, and designer whose art evolved from Baroque traditions of the 17th century to a Rococo manner in his mature style; painted altarpieces, genre works and history themes. He was born in Venice, 1682, and died there in 1754. His first name is also spelled Giambattista. This is his loveliest Madonna in our opinion.
