A Spanish Mannerist painter, the artist died in 1586. The Mannerist style followed the High Renaissance, taking as its ideal the works of both Raphael and Michelangelo, and employed a highly styled arrangement of limbs and elaborate background details and or the arrangement of the figures in the composition.
