Holy Family with St. John ANDREA DEL SARTO c. 1530

The complete title of the work is Holy Family with St. John the Baptist.
 
Andrea del Sarto [Andrea d'Agnolo di Francesco di Luca di Paolo del Migliore], was born in 1487 and died in 1531. A Florentine he was a painter of the Italian Renaissance. The left [facing the viewer] side of St. Joseph's face is badly "decomposed" because of the elements of time. I did my best to "restore" it keeping to the original colors in his features. We retained most of the "blotches" because the image has a rustic, while refined, appeal of its own this way.
