Little Jesus, I Love Thee

 

Well dost Thou know, Little Jesus

How Thy sweet friendship I crave.

Teach me, the lowest of creatures,

How to be patient and brave.

 

Teach my proud heart, Little Jesus

All Thou wouldst wish it to be.

How to scorn life's false ambitions,

How to live solely for Thee.

 

Let me be childlike, Sweet Jesus,

Teach me Thine Own "little ways"

Humble, obedient and docile

Each breath a pure act f praise.

 

Let every action, Sweet Jesus

Prove Thy control over me,

Let all the hearts that I treasure,

Find their true frienship in Thee.
